Oskaloosa embraces holiday season with impressive Christmas lights display

The city of Oskaloosa is cementing itself as the place to see Christmas lights.

This year, it's upping the ante.

The city and the Oskaloosa Golden Goose Club teamed up with Jeremiah Maudlin. He's been lighting up his Barnes City home for years with synchronized lights, effects, and music.
Starting Saturday, the entire Oskaloosa town square will be lit up in sync with 30 different songs.
The music will be played through a sound system on the bandstand and through FM radio.
Maudlin also helped design displays for Oskaloosa Drug on Highway 92 and at a home on Lynndale Road.
For a few years now, Oskaloosa has turned its town square into a Christmas light spectacle.
More than 250,000 LED lights illuminate the fronts of buildings on the square during the holidays.
Including the Mahaska County courthouse.
The city of Oskaloosa says these lights will remain on starting Saturday through early January.
